They make their signature sculptural and artistic jewelry out of their workshop overlooking the Copenhagen harbor, where their two sons Karl and Niels Monies have also become involved in the family business. Although both are classically trained goldsmiths, in fact, they met during training, it was their interest and love for unconventional natural materials and oversized avant garde jewelry that led them to found their company.
